PDP announces date for NEC meeting, to meet national chairmanship aspirants

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has announced Tuesday as the date for its 76th National Executive Council, NEC, meeting.

PDP made this known in a notice of meeting signed by its national secretary, Ben Obi, on Saturday.

Obi said before the NEC meeting, the National Caretaker Committee of the party will meet with all the persons aspiring to be the national chairman of the party.

The PDP is expected to elect a new chairman and other national officers in December.

Aspirants for the national chairmanship include former Ogun governor, Gbenga Daniel; Olabode George, a former deputy national chairman; Jimi Agbaje, 2015 governorship candidate of the PDP in Lagos.

Others are Prof. Tunde Adeniran, a former Minister of Education; AIT Chairman, Raymond Dokpesi and Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, a former Minister of Sports.
