Nigeria Decides: INEC Delists APC Candidates In Cross River, Hours To Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has delisted APC candidates in Cross River just few hours before the 2019 elections will hold. 

INEC delisted APC candidates in Cross River in  compliance with a Federal High Court order, which recognises the Etim John-led State Executive Council of the party.

The court order also directed the electoral body to recognise only candidates from the John-led State Executive Council.

In the letter signed by Mrs Rose Anthony, Secretary to the Commission, Cross River REC was directed to retain names and logo of the party pending when the National Working Committee of APC submit the names of candidates from the Etim John executive.

APC members in the state have been torn on two factions led by John Ochalla and Etim John.
