Corpse Of 15 Years Old Sparks Tension In Jos

There was tension in the Farin Gada area of Jos North local government area of Plateau state, as residents of the area woke up Monday morning to find the corpse of a 15-year-old boy named Francis Weni with his eyes and the private part removed.

An eyewitness at the scene told our correspondent that the unfortunate event generated a lot of tension in the area

Mr Chidi a resident of the area told newsmen that, “we woke up this morning and found the dead body of the child with his eyes and the private part removed. ”
“This caused the youths in the area to come out and protest”
Chidi further said a car windshield was destroyed in the process of the protest but no one was killed or injured as a result.

It was gathered that Police quickly arrived at the scene to calm the situation.
The Plateau state Police PPRO Mr Mathias Terna confirmed the sad incidence he said, “early hours of Monday we got a report that a corpse was lying behind tomato market. ”

“We quickly came in and evacuated the corpse and on observation, we realized that tension was brewing in the area.”
“Our men were quickly detailed to curtail the situation and the situation is perfectly under control,” He said.
He further advised the Peace loving people of Plateau State to go on with their normal activities, be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
