Veteran Yoruba Actress, Motunrayo Adeoye, Is Dead

Veteran Yoruba Actress “Motunrayo Adeoye” dies after long battle with the chronic ulcer in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to reports, the talented actress died early morning on Monday, June 1.

She will be buried today at her residence located at Akobo Ojurin, Ibadan Oyo State according to Islamic rite.

Adeoye was among the 10 most featured veteran Yoruba actresses in the industry. She was a niece to a first-class traditional ruler in Yorubaland, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo.

She joined BCOS Communication, Ibadan in the 70’s as a studio/audio engineer. Almost immediately after her retirement in 2010, she went fully into acting.

Her role in Kunle Afod’s hit movie, Igbekun brought her into spotlight.
