BREAKING: Nigeria records 49 new Coronavirus cases, 19 deaths; rise to 542

Nigeria on Saturday night, April 18, has recorded 49 new cases of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus in five states and Abuja, the country capital, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 542 and 19 deaths.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made the announcement on Saturday night, on its official Twitter account.

The new cases are spread across Lagos, Kano, Oyo, Ogun and Ekiti states as well as Abuja, the country capital.

According to the breakdown, Lagos recorded 23 cases; twelve in the FCT, ten in Kano, two in Ogun, one in Oyo and one in Ekiti.

NCDC said “Forty-nine new cases of #COVID19 have been reported;

23 in Lagos

12 in FCT

10 in Kano

2 in Ogun

1 in Oyo

1 in Ekiti

“As at 10:40 pm 18th April there are 542 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.

Discharged: 166

Deaths: 19
