The Fulani herdsmen on Friday invaded the premises of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).

According to the report, the herders converted the university’s campus to a grazing ground.

It was gathered the Fulani herdsmen invaded the campus in the early hours of Friday with their cattle.

Though, the management of the institution has not released any statement at the time of filling this report.

Recall that a similar incident happened on September 11, 2019 in the institution while the management of the FUTO, had raised the alarm over the invasion of the school by Fulani herdsmen.

FUTO public Relations Officer, Uche Nwalue, had said that the herders had converted the university’s campus to a grazing ground.

The university’s spokesperson said that the activities of the Fulani herdsmen on the campus was worrisome and was affecting the students.

The PRO called on the Federal and state governments, as well as security agents, to come to the university’s rescue.
