BREAKING: Adebayo Salami, is dead

A senator represents Osun Central in the 1st National Assembly, Adebayo Ayoade Salami, is dead in the United States.

It was gathered that the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC died on Thursday evening in the US at the age of 67 years.

Circumstances leading to death was however unknown as at the press time.

Senator Salami represented Osun Central Senatorial District under the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) between 1999 and 2003.

 Salami was in the Senate and served as vice-chairman of the committees on public accounts, labour, power and steel and water resources.

Until his death, he was the Osun Senatorial leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Salami was born in March 9, 1953.

The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Osogbo Central Branch, described the late Senator as a responsible and devout Muslim during his time.

A statement jointly signed by the Amir, Taofeeq Olayoonu and the Public Relations Officer of MSSN, Saheed Raji, commiserated with the family and friends of Senator Salami.

The Muslim students recalled the efforts and commitment of the late Senator to Islam and prayed to Allah to overlook his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
