Nigeria on Saturday night, May 23, has recorded another 265 new cases of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus in twelve (12) states as well as Abuja, the country capital, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 7526 and 221 deaths.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made the announcement on Saturday night, on its official Twitter account.

The new cases are spread across Lagos, Oyo, Edo, Ogun, Plateau, Kaduna, Borno, Niger, Kwara, Bauchi, Anambra, and Enugu States as well as country capital, Abuja.

The centre also said that no person death from Coronavirus-related complications in the country, but the number of fatalities rise to 221.

NCDC said “133 new cases were recorded in Lagos, 34 in Oyo, 28 in Edo State, 23 in Ogun, 22 in the Federal Capital Territory, 6 in Plateau, 5 in Kaduna.

The tweet further revealed that three cases each were recorded in Borno and Niger States, two cases each recorded in Kwara, Bauchi, Anambra and Enugu States.

As at now, 7526 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Nigeria with 2174 patients discharged and 221 deaths recorded.
