BREAKING: Abducted Ekiti Petroleum Dealer, Akinbami regains freedom

The abducted petroleum dealer in Ekiti State, Alhaji Suleiman Akinbami, has regained freedom from his abductors after spending eight days in captivity.

It was gathered that Alhaji Akinbami was released on Sunday evening.

Newsflash247 had earlier reported that Akinbami was kidnapped by unknown gunmen last week Sunday evening at his filling stations along the Federal Polytechnic Road Ado Ekiti, the State capital.

The Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer ASP Sunday Abutu confirmed that the victim was left off the hook at about 2pm of Sunday around a remote area in Kogi State

He said details of his release would be made available later.

Newsflash247 had reported that the kidnappers placed a N60m ransom on Alhaji Akinbami.

A family source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the kidnappers had contacted the victim’s relatives and demanded N60m for his release.

The source had said: ”You know our man was kidnapped on Sunday night in a very dramatic way and very late on Tuesday night, we got a call from them asking us to pay N60 million if we are to see him.

“We pleaded with them to reduce the amount and we are yet to hear from them since then.”

It was however not certain how much was eventually paid the kidnappers before Alhaji Akinbami was released today.
