Soldiers Invade Rivers Community, Brutalise Many

Several armed soldiers On Wednesday, 23rd August 2018, allegedly led by Major Nasiru, from Garrison Command, 6 Division, Bori Camp, Port-Harcourt in Rivers State, invaded Umunwelile Community, brutalized, dehumanized, wounded and comprehensively devastated the vulnerable and harmless indigenous members of the town.

The community leaders have sent several formal complaints to relevant authorities, including, but not limited to the Presidency and the Governor of Rivers State.

Reports gathered that the soldiers have decided to forcefully take over their communal land by force of arms without due process
