President Tinubu Names Nuhu Ribadu as His Security Adviser, Edun, Dele Alake Among Other Appointments
President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of eight special advisers to assist him in his administration. Among them is Nuhu Ribadu, the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who will serve as the Special Adviser on Security.
The announcement was made in a statement by Abiodun Oladunjoye, the director of information at the State House on Thursday, June 15, according to Daily Trust.
Tinubu also appointed Wale Edun, his former commissioner for finance when he was the governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007. Edun will be the Special Adviser on Monetary Policies.
Another former commissioner under Tinubu’s governorship, Dele Alake, who handled the information portfolio, was appointed as the Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy.
Yau Darazo, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, was appointed as the Special Adviser on Political and Intergovernmental Affairs.
The other appointees are:
- Olu Verheijen – Special Adviser, Energy
- Zacchaeus Adedeji – Special Adviser, Revenue
- John Ugochukwu Uwajumogu – Special Adviser, Industry, Trade and Investment.
- Salma Ibrahim Anas – Special Adviser, Health
The statement said that the appointments were made in line with Tinubu’s request to appoint 20 special advisers as members of his cabinet.
Earlier in the day, Tinubu inaugurated the National Economic Council (NEC), which is headed by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
