Presidential jet pilot of 19 years dies, Osinbajo mourns

Nigerian Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo paid his final respects to late Captain Tunde Richard Edorhe who worked as first class pilot on the Nigerian presidential air fleet for 19 years.

In his lifetime, Edorhe flew four Nigerians presidents and vice presidents (with Osinbajo inclusive) right from 2000.

The vice president, who visited the bereaved family on Sunday, November 24, expressed his regrets over the late captains demise on behalf of the presidency and the federal government.

Newsflash247 had earlier reported that Osinbajo on Thursday, November 21, presided over a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting attended mostly by governors and the deputy governors of some states, started around 12 noon at the council chambers of the State House.

In another report gathered that despite allegations and insinuations of being made irrelevant in the presidency, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday, November 6, presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

The FEC meeting which was held as usual in the Presidential Villa in Abuja, is the second one that Osinbajo is presiding over since President Muhammadu Buhari travelled out of the country.

This was the second FEC meeting Osinbajo presided over after president Muhammadu Buhari left the country.

There had been insinuations that Osinbajo has been irrelevant in the presidency.

A member of the House of Representatives, Akin Alabi, had said the office of the chief of staff is more powerful than that of the vice president in a presidential system of government.
