Ekiti 2022: PDP Appeal panel affirms Kolawole’s victory as one aspirant appears

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Appeal Committee on the Ekiti State governorship poll has affirmed the election of Bisi Kolawole as the candidate of the party in the June 2022 governorship election.

Addressing journalists after its meeting on Saturday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said after deliberating for over 90 minutes on the Ekiti State governorship appeal, the party upheld the election of Bisi Kolawole as the candidate of the party.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the appeal committee headed by the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, agreed that the primary election conducted by the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom was transparent.

He said the party also commended the winner, Bisi Kolawole and urged all aggrieved stakeholders to close ranks to enable the party to win the June 2022 government election.

The PDP spokesperson said that the only correspondence received by the appeal committee was from Senator Biodun Olujimi who notified the appeal committee of her desire to withdraw from the governorship election because of no congress in two local governments which are part of her primary constituency.

Ologunagba said that the national leadership of the party would take an active part in the reconciliation and campaigns in the forthcoming governorship in the state.
