Ekiti State Governor Appoints New Chairman of Traditional Rulers Council

The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has announced the appointment of Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro, the Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, as the new Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers. Oba Faboro will lead the council for a two-year term from August 1, 2023 to August 1, 2025.

Oba Faboro is the traditional ruler of Ido-Ekiti, a town in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State. He succeeds Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, the Onisan of Isan-Ekiti, who served as the Chairman of the council from July 28, 2021 to July 28, 2023. Oba Adejuwon took over from Oba Ajibade Alabi, the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti.

The Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, made the announcement in a statement on Monday. She expressed the government’s appreciation to the traditional rulers for their prayers, support and immense contributions to the development of Ekiti State in all aspects.

She also congratulated the council members on their achievement and wished them a successful tenure.

She urged them to extend the same support they gave to the outgoing Chairman to the incoming one.

She assured them that the government would continue to respect and honour the traditional rulers across the state regardless of their status and work with them to build an institution that all Ekiti people can be proud of.
