The Ooni of Ife, the Arole Oduduwa and the Paramount Head of all the Yoruba people worldwide, Ooni Ogunwusi was born into the Giesi Ruling House, Ojaja Royal Compound of Agbedegbede in Ile-Ife the Cradle of the Yoruba worldwide.
Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi was born on 17th October, 1974 to Prince Ropo and Late Mrs Margaret Wuraola Ogunwusi in Ile Opa family compound, Ile Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.
He was named… Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan . Ooni Ogunwusi was quietly delivered into the humble family of Prince Ropo and Late Mrs. Margret Wuraola Ogunwusi (of Soji Opa family compound, Ile-Ife).
Though born quietly, Ooni Ogunwusi’s excellence and outstanding acumen recently announced itself for the world to behold as he was crowned the 51st Ooni of Ife on the 7th of December 2015.
Many years before the birth of the young prince, it was predicted that a child of prominence that would impact the lives of mankind would be born into the family at exactly 1pm.
Indeed, Adeyeye came into this world at exactly 1pm on a Thursday, the 17th of October, 1974.
With the news of the arrival of a new born prince, Hence, he was named ‘Enitan’ by his mother while he was specifically named Adeyeye by his grandfather Pa. Joseph Olagbaju Adewole Ogunwusi Jnr. The name Adeyeye in English translates to ‘A Crown Befitting for a King’; Pa Ogunwusi on setting his eyes on the new born prince began to call him Adeyeye Ooni from that very day till he passed away.Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi is the 5th direct descendant of the Giesi Ruling Family (Ooni Ojaja Orarigba) – Ayikitininu Aran reigned form 1878-1880, he was the 44th Ooni of Ile-Ife to rule.
He begat Adegosan Adewole Ogunwusi, who was an extremely powerful prince in Ile-Ife and a war veteran that never lost any battle for Ile-Ife and the Yoruba race.He begat Pa Joseph Olagbaju Adewole Ogunwusi (Jnr.), a very bold prince who took after his father. He begat Prince John Oluropo Ogunwusi, a radio and television anchor and star presenter that spanned the entire mid-1980s to early 21st century in the South-Western part of Nigeria. He begat Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
His Imperial Majesty is the middle child in a family of six.
As an African traditional Monarch, Oba Enitan is entitled to his choices of women called Olori. Notable among the women in his life are: Olori Adebukola Bombata which he married in 2008; he also married former Olori Wuraola in 2016 while his first relationship was with Olori Omolara Olatubosun.
Friday, October 19, 2018, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, unveiled his new wife, Queen Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi.
The monarch, who made the announcement through his social media platforms, praised his new Olori for her beauty, uniqueness and royal qualities and most especially, the fear of God she has.
He stated, “I waited patiently upon the Almighty the King of kings, he eventually did it in the midst of many trials.
“Shilekunola, Moronke, Naomi; the greatest arsenal you can apply on this highly revered throne with many rules and regulations in the midst of undiluted tradition, heritage and culture is the “Fear Of God In You”, which is the beginning of your wisdom on this throne of Oduduwa.
“You are welcome home my beautiful and adorable queen.’’
Oba Ogunwusi was previously married to two women at separate times, the more recent of which was Queen Zaynab Otiti-Obanor.

He started his elementary education at Subuola Memorial Nursery and Primary School Ibadan and Ibadan District Council, Akobo, Ibadan.
He proceeded to the prestigious Loyola College Ibadan and later to St. Peters Secondary School, Ile-Ife where he bagged his secondary school leaving certificate.
He graduated as an Accountant from The Polytechnic Ibadan.
Oba Enitan Adeyeye is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. Kabiyesi is an Associate Accounting Technician, Certified member of the Institute of Directors and also a member, Global Real Estate Institute.
Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi holds a handful of honorary Doctorate Degrees which include; Public Administration and Law from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and Igbinedion University. H.I.M is the Chancellor at the University of Nigeria Nsukka.

The scholarship programme was held in commemoration of his 45th birthday which is set to hold on October 17, 2019. It is an expression of His Imperial Majesty’s appreciation to the Almighty God for the grace to witness yet another year in good health and prosperity.
According Deputy Chief Convener of HAI, Princess Temitope Adesegun, the scholarship programme was created after discovering the high rate of drop outs among students from basic to tertiary levels due to their inability to pay tuition fees. The programme was also designed to touch those who genuinely need it and the selection process conducted by the scholarship committee was free and fair.
His Imperial Majesty has always been known to be an advocate for education. He is so passionate about the youths because He sees so much potentials in them and wants them to succeed. This is why He continually thinks about how to make them better individuals for themselves , their families and the society at large.” She disclosed.
