BREAKING: Bye-Election: INEC declares APC’s Abiru winner of Lagos East senatorial Poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Sunday morning, declared Tokunbo Abiru, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Lagos East senatorial bye-election.

The election was conducted on Saturday with low voter turnout.

According to INEC who announced the results on Sunday morning, the commission said that Abiru obtained a total of 89,204 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Babatunde Gbadamosi of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Gbadamosi secured a total of 11,257 votes to emerge second.

Abiru won in all the five local government areas in the senatorial district.

APC: 16,336

PDP: 937

Ikorodu

APC: 19,204

PDP: 3,766
