Nigerians react as EFCC arrests Blogger

Nigerians on Thursday, February 27, has blasted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over the arrest of one blogger, Dikeocha Chukwuebuka.

Dikeocha Chukwuebuka, published a picture of a crowded open cell in his Twitter handle @TheRealDayne, claiming that it is that of Port Harcourt office of the EFCC.

The Port Harcourt Zonal Head of the Commission, Mr Usman Imam who announced the arrest while briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt, on Thursday said the suspect was picked up at about 4pm on Wednesday, February 26 in the premises of a new generation bank on Ada George Road in Port Harcourt.

Nigerians has reacted to the incident, saying, “Does the EFCC have the constitutional power to make arrest in this particular case since it has nothing to do with financial crimes? When will you arrest the @officialEFCC handler that denied the coronavirus statement credited to your Ag Chairman, Magu.
