UPDATED: Fayemi’s aide slumps, dies in office while on a phone call

The immediate past Chairman of the Ekiti Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Professor Francisca Aladejana, is dead.

She died on Monday afternoon while working in her office.

Aladejana, who until his death, was a Special Adviser to Governor Kayode Fayemi on Basic and Secondary and Vocational/Technical Education, reportedly slumped while on a phone call in her office thereafter died.

The deceased was said to have arrived her office as usual on Monday morning, but later slumped while on a phone call.

According to the report, the late Iworoko Ekiti-born Professor was a former provost of the College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, now Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology during the first term administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi and Ayo Fayose second term administration respectively.

Aladejana served the SUBEB chairman between March 2019 to August 2020.

Francisca Aladejana had Bachelor of Science in Education and Biology with First Class Honours at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University of Ile-Ife).

She obtained MA in Science Education, and a PhD in Botany (Ife).

Late Aladejana was a senior lecturer and the Director of the Institute of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

She had won two distinguished awards.

Her research interests include science education, gender studies, ICT use in science teaching, and very recently NKS.
