Lagos APC Violence: We Remember How Funsho Williams Was Killed – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos State chapter on Wednesday called on security agencies to protect its members in the state following the violence that broke out at the campaign flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state on Tuesday .

The party’s Publicity Secretary, Barr. Taofik Gani, in a statement made available to Daily Independent said it is surprising that the APC is accusing PDP of sponsoring the crisis when it is clear that the perpetrators are card-carrying members of the APC.

While calling on security agencies to arrest those behind the dastardly act, the PDP said it is alarmed at the desperation with which APC is going about the campaign.

“It is a clear unequivocal show of their trade in character to always blame another party for their crime, inadequacy, maladministration and failure”.

“It is even laughable and stupid talk that whilst a sitting governor was addressing his party members, factional thugs within the APC, all well known, started fighting, maiming and killing , robbed , yet none was arrested”.

“We call on the security agencies to show professionalism by ensuring the arrest and prosecution of the actors at the APC rally”.

“ We are also raising alarm that our members are now to be given adequate police protections because the APC is now too desperate to want to continue to rule Lagos State and as such, this level of thuggery”.

“We remember well the gruesome murder of our Funsho Williams who was coasting to victory” he said.
