How APC plans to make Tinubu appear strong for the 2023 election

Former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is said to be returning to Nigeria on Sunday, October 10 so that he can appear strong enough for the 2023 presidential election.

Some sources have told Saharareporters that the National leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) will be welcomed in a grand way by his political associates at the Nigerian Police College, Ikeja, Lagos.

The sources also revealed that after his visit on Sunday he would return to the UK to continue with his recuperation.

The source said: Tinubu is planning a choreographed return to Nigeria on Sunday. Baba (Tinubu) will return for more surgeries shortly after. A grand welcome is being arranged at the Nigeria Police College in Ikeja, Lagos.

“That’s if everything goes as planned and his health permits him to take the gruesome trip – because the trip is also going to tell on his recuperation.”

Newsflash Nigeria recalls that during the visit of the House of Representatives northern caucus to his home in London, Tinubu revealed that while other aspects of his treatment were going fine he was finding physiotherapy quite gruesome.

He then thanked the delegation for their presence and said he was doing well because of them and God. The former Lagos governor had knee surgery at John Hopkins University Maryland, US.

Tinubu allegedly planned to have his surgery in Paris but when there were rumours about his death in Nigeria he decided to travel to the US for the surgery.

He is currently in his home in the UK recuperating and undergoing physiotherapy.

Since his departure, Tinubu’s London home has become a mecca of sorts as he has been visited by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; Governors Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), and Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti).

Newsflash Nigeria had also reported that Fayemi confirmed that Tinubu had surgery recently and he (Fayemi) was in London to show solidarity with him.

The governor had said, “He (Akeredolu) and I were in London together to see our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but it had absolutely nothing to do with 2023 presidential plans whatsoever. That’s not the reason why we went there.

“Asiwaju had just surgery; it is simply proper etiquette or behaviour both in the part of the country where I come from but also generally that when a friend and elder is undergoing health challenges, it would be improper on your part not to show solidarity and support.”

Tinubu’s health has been a subject of controversy of late.

President Muhammadu Buhari also made a surprise visit to Tinubu in London where he was seen leaning on a walking stick.
