“To set the record straight, I was never arrested for kidnapping. I am a commercial driver and a registered member of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).

“As a driver, a friend of mine who I have known for over ten years contacted me to help move some materials from the site he was supervising at Ajebandele area of Ado-Ekiti and I obliged him after negotiating my fees.

“I have no idea whether he has the approval of the owner of the property or not and I didn’t bother to probe because I know he works at the site and the fact that he has worked in several sites that I know of.

“We were arrested and paraded because it turned out the owner was not aware of our presence at the site that day even though he (my friend) was the one handling the roofing of the said property. He has since reconciled and resolved his difference with the owner of the property.

“My vehicle and I have been released and I am back on the street with my legimate hustle that I’m well known for.

“I am a graduate of accountancy, a politician with a legitimate means of livelihood and a responsible father with children. Most importantly I have a name and future to protect with all my strength.

“Indeed I have learnt my lessons with respect to carrying out due diligence on my potential clients.

“I sincerely appreciate my family, friends my political associate and everyone that reached out to me during my travails.

“Thank you and God bless”.
