We know where kidnappers are located – Lai Mohammed opens up

The Federal government on Tuesday, said the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari knows where bandits are located, but the government still has to exercise caution in order not to hurt the victims.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made the comments on Tuesday while addressing journalists in Lagos.

Lai Mohammed said the insinuation in some quarters that the government was clueless and unfounded, adding that the result of the Buhari administration’s efforts would soon be evident.

According to him, the refusal of the military to invade hideouts of the criminals is to reduce minimal casualties of the side of civilians held hostage in such camps.

He said caution ought to be applied in such situations to ensure those that are supposed to be saved don’t end up as victims.

His words: “Usually, the location of the kidnappers is not unknown to security forces, but they still have to exercise caution in order not to hurt the same children they are trying to rescue.

“Despite these inhibitions, the security forces have the wherewithal to decisively tackle the challenges.”
