Godfatherism: We’re Waiting For You In Lagos – APC Chairman Tells El-Rufai

Otunba Henry Ajomale, immediate past chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State chapter has dared Governor Nasir El- Rufai of Kaduna State to come to Lagos and demonstrate how he intended to put an end to godfatherism as he recently postulated.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Daily Independent, Ajomale said El-Rufai is making no sense with his argument.

The APC chairman said members of APC in Lagos are happy with their godfathers and are not planning to dislodge them as El-Rufai claimed he did in Kaduna.

“Let him come to Lagos. We are waiting for him. We want to know how he wants to achieve that.

“This is Lagos and we respect our godfathers here because they have been very relevant, supportive and they are playing their leadership role well which explains why Lagos is where it is today.

“So, that is why when younger people like El-Rufai come and they feel that the older generation should be sacked, I just laugh because they too will get there one day and somebody will also say the same thing to them.

“So to me, I don’t think El-Rufai is talking sense but if indeed he is serious about doing what he said, then we are waiting for him here,” he said.
