Why Tunde Bakare Refuses to Call Tinubu His President

Tunde Bakare, the leader of the Citadel Global Community Church, has made a shocking statement about Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect of Nigeria.

Bakare, who was one of the 16 candidates who contested for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket last year, said he would never call Tinubu his president because he lacks integrity.

He revealed this at a webinar organized by the PTB4Nigeria In Diaspora Group, where he discussed the role of the diaspora in building a new Nigeria.

He also narrated what he told President Muhammadu Buhari, who will hand over to Tinubu on Monday after completing his second term in office.

He said he visited Buhari at the Glass House in Abuja, where he has been staying because the main house is being renovated.

He told Buhari that he had supported him because of his reputation for honesty and incorruptibility, but he was disappointed that he was passing on power to someone who does not share those values.

He said he would address Tinubu as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, but he would never call him his president.

Bakare is known for his outspokenness and criticism of political leaders. He was once Buhari’s running mate in 2011, but they lost to Goodluck Jonathan.
