El-Rufai Sent Primary School Pupils Home, Requires PVC For Pupils Registration

Kaduna State government on Monday, November 12, takes serious confusion in the Southern part of Kaduna State as pupils of a primary school have been sent home for their parents to provide their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) number.

Authority closed Model Primary School Nisama asking parents to bring their PVC for the registration of their wards.

A source gathered that even officials at the school could not explain why parents will have to ‘re-registered’ their children with their PVC card.

Nigeria is approaching an elections year with many desperate politicians devising means of occupying offices.

It was observed that students of Model Primary School Nisama, Godogodo District in Jema’a local government of Kaduna State were on Monday, 12 November 2018 asked to go home.

Inquiries show that the pupils were asked to inform their parents to come along with their PVCs and register them properly.

“We are surprised that our children were sent back home. The children told us that we are to report at the school with our PVC to enable us to register them,” a parent, Talatu Ibrahim told Newsflash247.

“I was shocked that when I arrived at the school premises, there was a form for me to fill which also demands my PVC Number,” Talatu said.

Parents were seen moving in and out of the deserted school for the registration of their children.

The District Education Officer of the area, who gave his name as Mr. Bako, could not give the reason why parents’ PVC Number is required for the ‘proper registration’ of the pupils.
