Ekiti 2022: Eleka’s constituency delegates endorse Olusola Eleka for governor

Ahead of the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State, some statutory delegates and stakeholders from the constituency of the former deputy governor of Ekiti State, Prof. Olusola Eleka, have endorsed him for his aspiration.

The Ikere constituency II endorsed the university don barely a few weeks after some statutory delegates from Ikere Ekiti have declared support for Bisi Kolawole, preferred candidate of the former governor Ayodele Fayose.

Eleka was the candidate of the PDP in the 2018 governorship election, has continued to receive supports from stakeholders of the party in his constituency ahead of 2022 governorship election despite losing the endorsement of former governor Ayodele Fayose, his former principal.

Recall that, the former Ekiti state governor endorsed Hon Bisi Kolawole, the incumbent Chairman of PDP in the state as his preferred candidate for the 2022 governorship election.

Since then, there have been a series of permutations from other aspirants to up their games in preparation for the primaries that is expected to hold sometime next year.

Newsflash Nigeria had earlier reported the ward chairmen and other executives in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ikere Local Government Area of the state visited former governor, Ayodele Fayose in Lagos to support his leadership style.

The meeting was held in Fayose’s residence in Ikeja on Sunday, April 25 in a bid to rally support for the preferred candidate of former Governor Ayodele Fayose, Hon Bisi Kolawole.

Newsflash Nigeria had reported that the former governor, Ayo Fayose, had endorsed Otunba Bisi Kolawole, the incumbent Chairman of PDP in the state as his preferred candidate for the 2022 governorship election.

This unexpected visit of Ikere delegates to Fayose has since caused ripples and shock in the camp of Prof. Kolapo Eleka, who is also a governorship aspirant and indigene of Ikere Ekiti.

Prof. Eleka had been boasting of total support of Ikere delegates and the entire people until the Ward Chairmen and other delegates paid a solidarity visit to Fayose few weeks ago and also they attended the flag off Bisi Kolawole in Efon Alaaye Ekiti last week Sunday.

The leaders of the party in Prof Eleka’s constituency in Ikere which comprises six wards were organized the meeting on Sunday at Agirilala-Ogbenuotesoro Hall, Uro area, which was attended by PDP leaders and stakeholders and pledge their loyalty and support for Professor Olusola Eleka.
