EFCC operatives storm Imo polling unit, quiz PDP candidate

Just like a drama as Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on January 25, has stormed a polling unit during the rerun election in Isiala Mbano local government area of Imo state.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the operatives arrived at the polling unit in Umucaram Amaraku in the company of some security agents during voting process on Saturday.

They thereafter interrogated Obinna Onwubuariri, candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for alleged vote-buying.

NAN quoted one of the operatives as saying they were alerted to the election venue over claims that Onwubuariri was buying votes.

They also attempted to arrest a police orderly attached to Onwubuariri but for the intervention of some military officers.

Obinna currently represents Okigwe north federal constituency at the house of representatives.
