Edo Guber: Another Obaseki’s Commissioner resigns

Obaseki’s former Chief of Staff, Chief Taiwo Akerele, also resigned in April, citing alleged inconsistencies in Edo Government.

A few months to the Edo State governorship election, the State Commissioner for Environment and Public Utilities, Dame Omoua Oni-Okpaku, has resigned.

Oni-Okpaku resigned a little over one month after former Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Paul Ohonbamu, also threw in the towel.

Though, Oni-Okpaku’s resignation had not been made public but, her Personal Assistant confirmed the development.

She however declined to give reasons for Oni-Okpaku’s action.

Obaseki’s former Chief of Staff, Chief Taiwo Akerele, also resigned in April, citing alleged inconsistencies in Edo Government.

In the last few weeks since Obaseki defected to the PDP, several Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants have resigned their appointment with the government.

There are indications more appointees may resign from the government ahead of the September 19 governorship election in the state.
