Borno, Taraba, Adamawa, Yobe in serious power crisis as YEDC receives zero allocation

Electricity consumers in Adamawa, Borno, Taraba and Yobe States may continue to wallow in darkness following the loss of supply from the national grid with zero allocation to the Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC).

The management of the company released a statement on Thursday, stating that “we are currently experiencing loss of supply from the national grid with zero allocation to YEDC coverage area”.

YEDC explained that the power outage is beyond their control, and therefore apologised to customers for the inconvenience the power outage might have caused them, stating that the company is awaiting the restoration of power supply.

It has been observed that in Yobe state, residents are experiencing epileptic power supply in recent time.

This is also coming at a time when heat wave continues to bite harder in the state with about 43 degrees Celsius, something which is making life very uncomfortable, particularly for those who are fasting.
