Covid-19 updates: Spain death toll rises to 14,555

Following the worldwide battle the outbreak of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus, the number of total fatalities caused by the new Coronavirus in Spain rose to 14,555 on Wednesday, the ministry said.

The number of daily coronavirus deaths rose in Spain for the second day on Wednesday as 757 people died over the past 24 hours, though the pace of the proportional daily increase in the death toll slowed down slightly, the health ministry said.

The number of total fatalities caused by the new coronavirus in Spain rose to 14,555 on Wednesday, the ministry said. The daily increase as a percentage of the total death toll was 5.5 percent, down from 5.7 percent the day before, when 743 people died.

The overall detected cases in the country rose to 146,690 from 140,510 on Tuesday, it added.

Meanwhile, Nigeria has recorded 22 new cases of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 276 and 6 deaths.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Wednesday night, April 8, made the announcement Wednesday night on its official Twitter account.

The new cases are spread across Lagos, Bauchi, Edo and the Federal Capital Territory.

The NCDC said, “Twenty-two new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 15 in Lagos, four in the FCT, two in Bauchi, one in Edo.

“As at 9:00pm 8th April, there are 276 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria”.“Forty-four have been discharged with six deaths.”
