COVID-19: Angry Youths Beat Up Three Judges As Police, Civil Defense Officers Flee

Just like a drama on Monday, May 11, as some irate youth in Taraba State attacked judges of a mobile court for motorists that refused to comply with the lockdown order in the state.

The judges, three in number, were beaten by the youth while policemen and officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps guarding the proceeding of the court at Dubeli Bridge along Wukari- Jalingo Road at Tella town under Gassol Local Government Area ran away as they could not contain the attackers.

The youth, it was further gathered, destroyed papers and other court documents, while money realized from fines made during the sitting was carted away.

Spokesperson for the police in the State, DSP David Misal, confirmed the incident.

He said the police had begun a manhunt for the culprits with a view to prosecuting them.
