The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended former lawmaker, Hon Oyetunde Ojo for alleged involvement in anti-party activities.

The party gave the suspension order in a letter dated June 6, 2019 and addressed to Ojo.

The letter was signed by the chairman and secretary of his ward.

The party earlier summoned the APC chieftain to defend himself against allegation levelled by some party members.

The summon by APC executives in Erinjiyan- Ekiti was contained in a letter dated May 20, 2019 signed by Ward chairman and Ward Secretary.

Oyetunde Ojo, the husband of Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the iyaloja of Lagos and the daughter of a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu.

The query was dated May 20, 2019 and Ojo was given seven days to answer it or risk severe disciplinary action.

A copy of the query sighted by our correspondent, listed a number of allegations against Ojo.

Among the allegations against Ojo, a former member of the House of Representatives (2011-2015) was that he failed to come home to participate fully in the last general elections.

He was also accused of being part of aggrieved APC leaders who wrote a protest letter to the national leadership of the party concerning some happenings in the party before the last general elections.

Ojo is one of the leaders of the party in the state that are aggrieved with the emergence of Kayode Fayemi as the party’s candidate in last July governorship election in the state.

The aggrieved leaders are also accusing Fayemi of sidelining them in the running of the APC-led administration in Ekiti.

In view of the above violation and based on the fact that you are not ready to submit yourself to constituted authority of the party.

“We wish to convey the decision of the party to suspend you indefinitely from the party indefinitely.

Recall that the same step was taken against former Governor Segun Oni, who was queried by the party in Ifaki-Ekiti, his hometown before he was said to have been expelled from the party. Oni and Fayemi fought bitterly for the party’s ticket.

Also the same step was taken by Hon Bimbo Daramola, former House of Representatives in the state before he was expelled from the party.
