Tinubu’s Wife Urges Nigerians to Follow Christ’s Example, says Her Husband is Not a Magician

The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to have hope and follow the example of Jesus Christ, who embodied the fruit of the spirit, in the face of the challenges facing the nation.

She made this call on Sunday at the interdenominational church service to mark Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary, themed, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

She said that her husband, President Bola Tinubu, is not a magician, but a leader who is committed to fixing what has been damaged by previous administrations. She appealed to Nigerians to be patient and supportive of the Tinubu administration, which inherited the situation on the ground.

“My husband is not a magician; he is going to work and I believe and hope that we will have peace in this country; the best is yet to come to us,” she said.

She added that good governance can only be impactful if the people emulate the nature of Christ, who showed love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance and forgiveness.

She said that a Nigeria of abundance has begun, and to be part of the greatness that God has started in the nation, Nigerians must look beyond their current realities and embrace hope anew.

“There is no challenge, obstacle or difficulty that we cannot overcome or surmount if we imbibe the nature of Christ who said in Matthew 11:28 that ‘come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest’,” she said.

She urged Nigerians to keep their hope alive, the lively hope which Jesus Christ has birthed in them. She also prayed for God’s blessings and protection over Nigeria and its people.
