Angry Youths burn down RCCG pastor’s building over 7-year-old girl’s death in Ekiti

A building belonging to a pastor attached to the Redeemed Christian Church Church of God, RCCG, in Adebun Area of Ado-Ekiti has been razed by aggrieved youths over a missing seven-year-old girl found dead in his house.

Newsflash Nigeria understands that Damilade  Falade, 7 years old girl was said to have been sent an errand by her mother on Sunday, December 5, around 8 pm to a neighbouring house but did not return home that night.

Newsflash Nigeria learnt that the lifeless body of the girl was allegedly found in the pastor’s house after she was declared missing on Sunday night.

According to reports, Demilade was allegedly waylaid and butchered by the daughter of the pastor who was believed to be mentally deranged.

The parents of the seven-year-old girl were said to have raised an alarm when she could not return from the errand.

The alarm triggered residents to embark on the search until the lifeless body was allegedly found in the pastor’s house on Tuesday morning.

The case was later reported at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps which prompted the officers of the command to besiege the community in search of the girl.

Speaking with our reporter, a leader in the area alleged that the girl was murdered by an insane man after kidnapping her that night.

The development had led to the destruction of the Pastor’s house by some residents of the area.

The Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident to the journalist on Tuesday, stating that a suspect had been arrested in connection to the murder.

He said, “The dead body of the girl had been recovered and deposited at the morgue.

“The CP had directed that the matter be investigated thoroughly.

“We are studying and extracting information from the suspect in our custody and we shall inform the members of the public about our findings when we are through”.
