BREAKING: Nigeria records 339 new cases of COVID-19, total rises to 7,016

Nigeria on Thursday night, May 20, has recorded another 339 new cases of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus and 11 deaths in seventeen (17) states as well as Abuja, the country capital, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 7016 and 211 deaths.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made the announcement on Thursday night, on its official Twitter account.

The new cases are spread across Lagos, Kano,Oyo, Edo, Kastina, Kaduna, Jigawa, Yobe, Plateau, Gombe, Ogun, Bauchi, Nasarawa, Delta, Ondo, Rivers and Adamawa States as well as country capital, Abuja.

The centre also said that eleven (11) person deaths from Coronavirus-related complications in the country, but the number of fatalities rise to 211.

NCDC said “139 new cases were recorded in Lagos, 28 in Kano State, 28 in Oyo, 25 in Edo, 22 in Kastina, 18 in Kaduna, 14 in Jigawa, 13 in Yobe, 12 in Pleateau, 11 in the Federal Capital Territory, 8 in Gombe and 5 in Ogun State.

The tweet further revealed that four cases each were recorded in Bauchi and Nasarawa, 3 in Delta, 2 in Ondo and one case each recorded in Rivers and Adamawa States.

As at now, 7016 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Nigeria with 1907 patients discharged and 211 deaths recorded.
