BREAKING: COVID-19: Ex-Reps Speaker, Ghali Umar Na’Abba Dies In Kano

The Former Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, is dead, the sun reports.

Na’ Abba was the speaker during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Na’abba hailed from Kano where COVID-19 is reportedly claiming many lives.

He was speaker between 2000 and 2003, during which he played an active role in truncating the alleged third-term bid of Obasanjo.

Newsflash247 had earlier reported that Kano State government on Friday, May 1, had announced 80 new cases of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus and three deaths in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the state to 219 and 3 deaths.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), who made the announcement on Thursday night, on its official Twitter account.

Newsflash247 gathered the report that Kano State recorded 118 Coronavirus cases in two days.

According to data obtained from the NCDC, the state recorded 38 cases on Wednesday and 80 on Thursday.

The NCDC also said the state had recorded a total of Kano 219 cases with three deaths.

The increase in cases came three days after COVID-19 tests resumed in the state.
