APC beefs up security at National Secretariat over Oshiomhole’s removal

The Department of State Service, DSS, and other Nigerian securities have been beefed up at the entrance of the Abuja National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, APC, by some alleged party supporters to continue protests for the removal of the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

Recall that, on the early hours of Monday, February 17, protesters had stormed the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja to demand the removal of the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole over the party’s loss of Bayelsa governorship seat

The protesters under the aegis of APC Youths Stakeholders, who stormed the party headquarters at about 11am on Monday, demanding that Oshiomhole should be removed from the office of the National Chairman.

The group said the party has lost more states under him, the most recent being Bayelsa State.

The protesters carried various placards with inscriptions ‘Oshiomhole Must Go’, ‘Oshiomhole go home’, and ‘We are tired of losing’ among others.

According to the New Telegraphy reported that, in order to maintain peace and order, more police officers in a vehicle were brought to the national secretariat to assist the resident police security men.

Meanwhile, a vehicle of the Department of State Service (DSS) was also packed close to entrance gate.

Speaking to the report, one of the protesters and a member of the APC Progressive Youth Movement said the protest would every other day until Oshiomhole is removed.
