APC attacks Fayose over asking FG to reconstruction of Akure – Ado road

The Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has attacked the former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose over asking the Federal government to reconstruction of Akure – Ado road.

Fayose, on Tuesday, had raised alarm over the Akure–Ado Ekiti Road, saying the interstate road has turned into a death trap.

Fayose, who lamented on the situation of interstate road, saying, the road has become a source of severe hardship for Nigerians, especially the people of Ekiti State who are the major users of the road.

He noted that the road was too important to the economy of Ondo and Ekiti States as well as the well-being of the people of the states to be neglected completely by the Federal Government.

He called on the Federal Government to fix the road linking Akure, the Ondo State capital, with its Ekiti State counterpart, Ado Ekiti, said, “The road is now in such a deplorable state that motorists now avoid it”.

In a reaction, the All Progressives Congress, APC, have called Fayose to explain the where about of the N400 million met for the reconstruction of the Ekiti portion of Ado and Akure road (the boundary)

The Ekiti State All Progressives Congress publicity Secretary, Ade Ajayi stated this while reacting to a Fayose’s statement about the deplorable condition of Akure and Ado road.

He also called him to explain why the contractor handling the project was removed by him.

Ajayi expressed surprise that the former Governor could be describing the road as being deplorable, adding that, he misappropriated the N400 million Naira set aside for the reconstruction of the road.

He added that, Mr. Fayose left almost all the State roads untouched and inflated the few roads and the Fly Over he constructed.

Ajayi lamented that; all the roads across the State are full of pot holes which the present administrations under the able and hardworking Governor, Dr. Kayode are busy prefixing.
