Ekiti Election: Failed governorship ambition has blinded Adeyeye – Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose, has said the failed governorship ambition of Prince Dayo Adeyeye has blinded him to current political realities in the state and urged the former minister to wake up.
Fayose, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, also said Adeyeye and his cohorts would never be able to take Ekiti people for fools, as the people would never board a ship heading for destruction.

“Is it not laughable when Adeyeye alleged that Governor Ayodele Fayose and the Peoples Democratic Party were involved in killings and destruction of billboards? The June 1 incident when Adeyeye and All Progressives Congress leaders were shooting themselves at their secretariat is still fresh in people’s memory. This is not to talk of the killings that characterised Dr Kayode Fayemi’s tenure from 2010 to 2014.

” They have been going around the state and the poor reception being accorded them has led to them venting their anger on Prof. Kolapo Olusola’s billboards and campaign vehicles in many parts of Ekiti State. We know Adeyeye is a prince and is he saying if he were to be a royal father he would never have a mind of his own? Will he be gagged? Royal fathers in Ekiti State are true leaders of their people. They are not beggars and no amount of blackmail can stop them from saying their minds. One wonders the offence Adeyeye has against our monarchs that he has resorted to calling them names.

“For the information of Adeyeye and his new paymasters, the government of Ayodele Fayose recently promoted over 40,000 civil servants and is starting the process of employing another 2000. There is no room for witch hunting of anybody. The teachers derided by Kayode Fayemi were motivated and have taken Ekiti State to the top in education,” he said.

The governor advised Adeyeye to stop day dreaming, adding, “We know he was dazed by the loss of our party’s ticket to Prof. Kolapo Olusola, but for how long will Adeyeye continue to sulk? Part of the reasons he lost the ticket was because he failed to know political realities and how to key in. Hope he would eventually learn his lessons.”
