PHOTOS: Imo PDP Protest Over Attack On Fayose

The Imo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, Chief Barr. Charles Ezekwem led members of the State Exco and notable leaders joined the procession from the State Party Secretariat to the Commissioner of Police Office, Imo State, Mr. Dazuki Galadanchi to submit a protest letter to the Inspector General of Police.

As captured in the statement, “We the State working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo state and the entire Peoples Democratic Party, Imo state observe with dismay the police brutality on the governor of Ekiti state, Governor Ayodele Fayose.
“This violation of human right is coming just two days to the governorship election in Ekiti.

“We are rising in protest because if we allow this ugly incident to pass without our condemning it, we shall surely face the same situation here in Imo state where the present governor has shown no respect for rule of law.

“We strongly condemn the happening in Ekiti state and it was a sad commentary to our democracy that governor Fayose came out on television and was crying over brutality of police and the injuries he sustained from the incident in Ekiti.

We, therefore, plead that you use your good offices to ensure that the incident that took place in Ekiti does not repeat itself so as to avoid total breakdown of law and order in Nigeria.“The whole world is watching Nigeria and it will be very bad if democracy fails in our time.”
