The Serie A side trailed 4-1 to Barcelona from the first leg at the Nou Camp but thrashed the LaLiga leaders 3-0 on their home patch.

Edin Dzeko gave Roma the lead with a composed finish before Daniele De Rossi doubled their lead from the penalty spot.

Manolas then headed in the all-important third goal, as the Italian club progressed on away goals rule.

In the other game, Liverpool beat Manchester City 2-1 at The Etihad.

Gabriel Jesus gave the hosts a 2nd-minute lead, but goals from Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino ensured that Jurgen Klopp’s men qualified on a 5-1 aggregate.
