Ekiti 2022: Fayemi govt plans to attack me and my supporters – Segun Oni raises alarm

Former Ekiti State governor, Segun Oni, has raised the alarm over the Kayode Fayemi administration planned to attack him and his supporters.

A statement released on Monday by the Director of Media and Publicity of Segun Oni movements (SOM), Jackson Adebayo, accused the state government of an underneath plan to attack the former governor.

He said the Fayemi government underneath plans to attack Asiwaju Segun Oni and his supporters as they welcome him to the state on Tuesday.

According to him, the government has commissioned some driver unions stalwarts to mobilize thugs and other criminals to start to foment trouble as early as possible on Tuesday so that supporters of the former state governor will be scared to come and welcomed him to the state as already planned.

Adebayo explained that two top members of the government met with the leadership of the driver unions at the government house on Monday morning to fine-tune their earlier meeting at the old presidential quarters in the government house on Sunday night where the attack alternative was sealed.

He maintained that part of what they planned was to set their thugs on the different routes that lead to the state capital, Ado Ekiti while some were assigned to carry out the attacks on the street of Ado Ekiti and Ikere Ekiti.

Adebayo stressed that about ten million Naira was made available to the leadership of the unions to prosecute the dastardly assignment.

The Segun Oni movements noted that this has been the habitual reactionary strategy of the All Progressive Congress ( APC) government whenever it’s being faced with rejection by the people they claimed they govern, adding that by the time their government runs out of the goodwill of the people, they don’t usually understand hence when it comes why they result to violence.

The former governor’s group called on the good people of the state to come out and condemn this unholy attitude from the government of the state that was supposed to protect the life and property of her citizens.

“We are very disappointed that the government to whom all the sons and daughters of the state supposed to rely upon for security of life and property is now the organizer of mayhem and insecurities in Ekiti State.”

“We call all the security agencies to take swift actions on this matter so that the relative peace in the state would not be compromised by the government and its allies in the dark world”.
